    Pattern hogs?

Been seeing all these pictures of hogs on cams on here. I notice most of them have date and time stamp. Was wondering if hogs follow a certain time pattern. I am getting things lined up to start hunting this summer. Gonna set up a feeder and cam, for a week or so, then check the cam and see if I see any pattern. Just trying to get a heads up.

I have never hunted hogs before, you will probably see alot of questions by me about it.. Thanks in advance for any advise/answers.

When I was hunting pigs a lot a couple of summers ago, I had them patterned to within an hour. They seem to keep the same routine as long as they aren't pressured to much.

I have much better luck patterning them this time of year than during the summer. From what I have seen they are pretty sporadic any time of the year but in the middle of winter will come to the feeder in the evening pretty consistent within a few hours of it going off.

I don't mind sitting out all night for them, as long as they come around at some point. Kinda hoping I can pattern them to at least certain nights.

Yes they will stick to pretty much the same pattern for the most part--until you start shooting at them with a gun. Once they get shot at or hear guns going off, they wont be coming back for a while. As long as you are shooting your bow it wont bother them and they will keep coming back.

ive spent the last year on the ground hunting hogs solely. a group will develop a pattern for a while then disappear. then another group will develop a pattern for a while then disappear. the game completely changes when you start pressuring them. even at night. so if you see them coming consistently to your game cam for 3-4 days I'd def. hunt that pattern ASAP.

Its been my experience they have a wide circle they travel they'll work an area for a while then move off. They eventually come back around. It may be a few weeks or months but they usually come back around. Usually a little bigger (tee-hee-hee)

Wow, you all have had a different experience than I have. I might get hogs around the same time every night for about 3 or 4 nights, and then things change. I think this time of year is easier for getting a repeatable pattern due to the lack of available food but in the summer and fall, it is a guessing game. I have seen them change due to the moon phase or the weather or a pack of coyotes started hunting the area.

Can't wait to get in the stand and try it. I will be using a bow for sure. Can't use rifles unless it is a guided hunt. Which sucks, but oh well. I think hunting anything with a bow is more of a challenge.

id get started asap, right now is prime time for hog killin, they dont have much else to eat so they hit feeders hard right now, come summer time, the fields start getting lush again and they tend to hang out there a little more and not develope as much of a pattern at the feeders in my experience.

The hogs on our places will come for a while (two or three mornings/evenings) and then change their routine. But they will come back unless the have been pressurred too much. They're certainly more predictable this time of year. Throw some corn out and they will come!

Right now they start hitting em hard and pretty much at the same time. In the summer be prepared to sit and wait cuz who knows when they might roll through but mostly after dark.
