Hey guys I'm trying to decide whether to put an eotech or aimpoint on an M4 AR15. It will be used for playing around mainly with some hog and varmint shooting at night. I have been looking at the eotech xps2-0 and the aimpoint comp ml2 or ml3. I'd like to get a quick detach mount for it. I've looked at both Larue and GG&G. The GG&G is quite a bit cheaper but I don't know how good the quality is. I figured some of you guys had dealt with both and wanted to get your opinions. Thanks.

Eotech vs Aimpoint

Both are really good, it just depends on which you prefer for your sight picture. It is quite different in both. I have used both in Iraq and Afghanistan and they both do the job. Also the type of shooting you are doing makes a difference. I love an EO tech for quick reflexive fire, but prefer the Aimpoint if I will also make longer shots.

I was an Aimpoint fanboy till eotech came out with the XPS line. The battery cover was the main problem with the old eotechs and the fact the the battery was parallel with recoil forces causing the weight of the batteries to beat up the terminals.
Since the XPS line came out I have been replacing all my aimpoints with XPS-3's and Larue mounts and I couldn't be happier with them.
I'm use my gear hard in training classes and "combat style" pig hunting and the
XPS has not let me down yet.

They are built super tough and don't need batteries.

I like the EOtech for the quick shots on my patrol rifle. Within its range, I cannot shoot as fast with the Aimpoint.
