When do skunks have babies?

I was wondering if skunks have babies around a particular time of the year or if they have them year round.

The reason I am asking is that all day yesterday I kept getting wind of a skunk. Usually the skunks just spray in the night time around my house because that is when they are moving around. It was odd that I kept getting doses of skunk smell throughout the day on a bright sunny day. I was thinking they could be having babies or they recently had them and the babies are playing.

Skunks will begin mating in February and March. What you are detecting is the smell of skunk love.

Pretty sure the little ones are not capable of spraying until they get a little age on them

could have been where a owl had gotten one. i used to smell skunk really bad on a trail over a period of time and then found an owl nest/hang out above the trail

I guess I need to start trapping again. I am tired of getting raccoons. Is there some "love" scent that will work this time of the year?

Oh great, I just saw a skunk in my front yard (4:00 PM, sunny outside). I guess I'm skunk hunting the next few months if they are in baby-making mode.

Same here! I smelled them yesterday afternoon. Then last night when I took the dog outside I smelled them again. Was wondering the same thing myself.
