    2011 Assassin or 2010 Destroyer 340?

I am looking to upgrade from my old Bowtech Patriot and I am looking for some expert opinions. Which is the better hunting bow and why?

Whatever one fills best to you. Don't get caught up in any hype as they are both great bows. Shoot both of them and be happy with your choice as to which one fills best to you. Also shoot the 350 as well, it's a great bow. Try several so you know you made the right choice.

Mathews monster... you can shoot low poundage heavy arrow and have real fast speed with the ability to crank it up later if you want. Set up for hunting it is smooth and fairly quiet depending on what lbs you want. Mine is actually pretty quiet for 350 fps. But if your wanting to just stick with bowtech Id have to say the d340 very smooth and very quiet with no hand shock but dont really nknow about the assassin I havent shot one yet. This is just my opinion

I just went threw the whole process of buying a new bow, the destoyer was the cream of the crop, the assasin lacks a lil of the speed, the new invasion was a lil hareder to pull back with both bows set at the same poundage....go with the destoyer

Me and you are definitely in the same boat...I just left the bow shop about 2 hours ago..I am also used to shooting the Patriot and has been my hunting bow for years, I also recently got a Bowtech Mighty Mite which is just a smaller version of the Patriot and I'm going to sale my Patriot and keep the Mighty Mite because it shoots sweet but is much smaller. I went and shot multiple bows in the last few days....I shot a PSE Vendetta, Rytera Alien X, and a couple of Martins the first day, I liked the Rytera Alien X. Today I shot a Bowtech Destroyer 350, Mathews Z7, Bowtech 87 Airborne (used bow), Bowtech Assassin.....ummm I think that was it. I lgot down to decision time and I liked the Z7 but I thought the Destroyer had a smoother draw and was quieter, the Z7 seemed to have a "slapping" sound, I also shot the Assassin, it seemed like a really good bow for the package price and was fast but after shooting the Destroyer it just still didn't compare, I didn't want to spend $800 but I'm going with the Destroyer because I would rather spend more now and have it for years to come. If you don't want to spend as much then I would say shoot the Assassin....for the money you are getting alot of speed with the Assassin but it is louder and has a dramatic breakover in my opinion, the Z7 and Rytera Alien X are also nice. The build of the Destroyer is definitely quality...I can't remember everything the owner of the shop showed me but ask your bow expert and I'm sure he can tell you....the shop I was in is a really well known one for our area and he sales ALOT of different brands and all the major brands,,,the 2 owners and the 3 employees that all work there are all shooting Destroyer 350's and he said there just isn't anything out there that is build with the quality like it has with the quietness, smoothness and lots of SPEED, its super fast. Goodluck to you, I don't think you can go wrong with the Destroyer.

Keep in mind, that 'dramatic breakover' on the assassin is simply a draw-stop adjustment.
I hate a bow that dumps hard into the wall, and personally dislike the Desroyer for this reason.
I can adjust the dump, valley, let-off, and slight DL with the Assassin's Standard Binary Cam system.

At one time, I was tough enough, but now I'm smarter.

Assassin IMO among the two listed.
