Big negative on the cold. Last year when I sat for 12 hours in the cold was enough for me. I think it was in the 20's

Anything below 70 and I'm cold! Don't think I could do Canada either!

I did not shoot the deer, I have hunted up there 5 times, shot a 150 eight pointer and a 165 13 point that was a monarch of a deer in his prime, the taxi had him at 10 years old, I did see a few giants but something always went wrong, I may give it another try one day.

Only time I got cold this year was when I fell sack deep into a creek I was crossing when it was 26 deg. I would like to kill a deer in Canada in the snow but clean it in Mexico where it is warm

Something about hunting deer in those elements that are the size of a volkswagen attracts me to Canada or the Northern US....Not having to watch my back is a big plus too.

Nothing wrong with our German Sheperds with great headgear, I'd just like to shoot a big deer with a big body.

It's definately different hunting in the north woods - I've hunted MN & WI (close enough to canada) and while upper end potential is probably higher, there aren't NEARLY as many of them - lot more folks go home with a 130-140 class deer than those 160+ animals, and chances are whatever they go home with is the only deer in that class they saw.

Bowhunting in the cold is downright miserable too. It's a little different story than sitting in a box blind with a heater.

You shouldn't be SOL on elk - NM's not that cold during archery season, though you can get some wild elk in west tx.
