Tree Harness Tether: Are You Doing It Right?

Are you using yours properly? I thought I was till I decided to test it yesterday.
I sure got a rude wake up call. Thank God I was only 2 feet off of the ground.

The first pic shows how I tethered all season. The second pic shows how that sucker came undone when I put any amount of weight on it.

The Youtube video shows how you're supposed to do it.

Can someone instruct me on how to post a link to the video?

Or you can just go to youtube and look up "Treestand Safety 3-HSS-Adjust Tether and Buckle"

Glad you didn't get hurt during the season. Its hard to tell from the pics on my phone but it looks like you attached the carabiner to the quick-release for the tree strap, no wonder it pulled loose on you. I personally use their rope style tree strap with the prusik knot, it's a lot easier to get up and down the tree with it and pretty self intuitive when you're figuring out how to use it (although it doesn't hurt to read to instructions just to be on the safe side).

Right above the field for typing in your text, there is a toolbar with various editing options...font, size, color, etc. On the right side, you will see the YouTube icon. Click that and post the link between the brackets. Hope that makes sense.

Sad/scary thing is that I read the directions thoroughly, but thought that my way was easier.
