    Leveling a 2004 F150 FX4

I'm debating on having a shop do this for me or doing it myself. The shop is going to charge close to $300 and then suggests I put an extra spring in the back because the front will sit a little high. The total for all is $600. Has anyone ever done one of these themselves that can give a little input to help make my decision?

i have a 04 f150 4x4 and i whent with belstien shocks that have a zero to 2inch lift built into them and the back shocks have zero to 1 inch lift.My truck sets about 2 inches higher now and is level front to back and has a better ride than factory also a can fit 285/65/18 bfgoodrich ta tires on it now without them rubbing. Cost about 800.00 for shocks installed with front end alinment

I did my 2004 fx4 solo except for the last bolt when a friend stopped by and lent a hand.
Having the right tools will help, having 4 hands instead of
Two would be a plus as well.

I'd stick with the 2", cause the 2.5" might look nose up. I know my 2" did even though it measured slightly canter towards the front.

You'll have to get it aligned when you're done.

Texas Truck Worx in Conroe! Talk to Steve. Mine was around $700 but well worth every penny! It rides just as good as it did stock! Don't short yourself, these guys are the best!

I did it on my 07 f150. Took about an hour and a half. I did the 2''. Three things you should know.
1 You will need to get it aligned afterwards
2 The lower strut has to be tightened to 250ft. lbs.
3 If its leveled and you hook up to a trailer it'll look like the trailer is way heavier than it really is. Just kind of bugs me. I was thinking air shocks or helper spring just to keep it from squating so much.

Its not that hard to do. Go with the 2" the 2.5" puts your CV angles at a bad position. And if you want the look and the ability to pull something put an add a leaf in and you will be good. Not hard to do, helps big time if you have air tools but with a jack and a friend you should get it done. Best of luck. And "autospring" is the best company to go with.
