    Deviated Septum Surgery

Had it done this morning. No pain at all other than my nose feeling stuffy and a little bit of a burning sensation on the tip of my nose and inside at the incision point. It took me longer to wake up from the surgery than it did for them to actually do it.

Doc said I was down to 15% airflow on a good day on the left side. Right side was 95%+ flow so he didnt do the right. Said I should see a VAST improvement in airflow in the next couple of days.

You mean no more whistling when you breath through your nose?

I have always put off the sinus surgery because of how painful everyone said it is and the recovery time.

Good deal, had mine done a few years ago and once the swelling went down I really noticed the difference!

Had it done about 15 years ago and it was pretty painful for me....took the whole week to recover. Breathing significantly improved as well as any sinus problems that I had.

Have you ever had an ears, nose and throat doc/surgeon look at you? The intensity of the surgery really differs case to case. My brother in law had it done three weeks ago in Houston and his was more reconstructive surgery. He looked like one of the chicks of a plastic surgery show...swelling, black eyes, lots of pain, etc. Hell, his kids barely recognized him. His surgery took three hours. Mine was the polar opposite, and took less than 30 minutes.

I went to one when I was first diagnosed with sleep apnea. Haven't been back to one since. When he told me it would be a 50/50 shot about whether it would fix my sleep apnea i didn't feel it was worth the cost.

24 hours post op and I didnt think I would feel this good. Just a little stuffiness on the left side and just a little sore...kind of like the last time my 3yo head butt me. I would try and go in to work but I cant drive due to the narcotics. Already told Katy if it snows she is driving me to the ranch to check on the cows and take pics.

Only time I ever fainted was when the gauze and splint came out

But I would do it every year if I had to it was worth it
