    New tractor options help

I am selling my compact tractor to get a bigger (should have done it the first time)

I have settled on the following and that is not going to change.

Kubota MX5100 hst x4x with canopy and FEL quick detach ag tires (R1?)

I am adding a rear work light ( I am going to ask about adding lights on the canopy) you can never have to much light!

I am thinking about the following

rear remotes 1 or 2 I know this will not be used much but when you need you need.

draft control I think this is used mainly when plowing?? if not expalin more please.

Any thoughts on the two above or anything else I missed

    Gotta love new toys...

Get one that is clutch and gear driven go one size larger than you think you need
I have 2 rear hydro units to run my belltech
Draft control also helps with mowing and if you use a landscape rake
fill the tires with stop leak
make sure it has a good cup holder

1 rear hydro would be a good idea but I don't see a need for 2 on a tractor of that size

I would also have them put water in rear tires. This mainly helps fel capacity but also helps traction a lot.

I went with m9540 hdc 12 .It's an 06 bought in jan 07. I had 3 remotes put on mine. On the front rims make sure where center rim is ribbited to outer rim there is welds around the metal to outer rim. When I bought mine they didn't weld them and tire is leaking around ribbit. Another thing hydrilic suttle if you can get this will save your clutch. I got high capisity lift on rear to 7000 lbs ...It comes with the 12 spd trans most have 8 in them.....I got a la1353 front end loader with quick detach GET this.I have leveler on bucket but don.t use it much. Wish I would have gotten the shock in the front end loader where take out the bounce out and rough ride.........I dug big stock tank with frontend loader. I pull a 10 ft off set disc with it and cut, rake and bale my hay with it All in all not bad tractor.......but wish now I would have bought a John Deere 6430 permeium cab w/ front assit..........but $80,000.00 compared to $ 44,000.00.......Andy

I would go 2 remotes, some implements have more than one moving part

              What are you selling

agree with others - get them to add the water in the back - you'll need it.

Stan one thing I add to my tractor tires was Ultraseal. I kept getting flats from mesquite thorns. I added this stuff and it stopped the leaks cold! It will seal a hole up to 1/2 in diameter. You can get it from here: http://www.gemplers.com/product/G655...letproof-Grade

Its so much better than Slime. Its a permanent solution and wont harm your rims. It washes off with water. One bottle will filled both front tires. The rear ones take 1.5 bottle for each tire.

I think 2 remotes would be overkill but it all depends on your attachments.

Draft control is mainly used when plowing or using box blade rippers. It automatically raises the 3 point hitch enough to relieve strain when its detected. Then lowers back down when the strain is gone.

                    Good luck! Nice tractor!!

$800 for a rear hydro seems way too expensive. Where are you tractor shopping? I got a quote from Normangee Tractor and do not remember the charge being that expensive. Some pieces of equipment will need two rear hydro. After getting quotes for new tractors I went used and I am glad that I did.

Tractor that size will not need draft control. Another thing to think about on the remotes is if you'll ever be pulling a batwing shredder you'll need 2 set of remotes and if it has a front end loader is it going to be plumbed straight in or run to the remotes. That alone may tie up your one remote set. And I agree with Toby $800 to add a set of remotes is extremelly expensive considering you can buy the remote for less than $200 itself.

I don't see a 50ish HP tractor in front of a batwing, an offset disc maybe, a log splitter maybe, and I LOVE my hydro top link!

All this can be done with a single hydro.

If they try plumbing your fel into a remote then refuse to pick it up till they do it right IMO

I thought $800 sounded too high also. I don`t know what your paying but if I was buying a new tractor and they wouldn`t throw in the remotes or for a lot less than $800, I would buy somewhere else.

They are going to fill that back tires with water to add weight. I could be wrong ont he price of the rear remote.

Right now I do not have any implement that requires a rear remote. I am getting just in case. The same with draft not sure I need it but I amd going to get it...
