Watch Biggest Loser! What those people achieve in the course of a few months is incredible.

I saw something like that. A girl lost 90 lbs in 90 days. She was with a trainer 8 hours a day!

Biggest loser is somewhat of a joke. They dont eat/drink many hours before they weigh so they are the lightest possible, which gives false sense of weight loss and is water weight. This show displayed alot more of the nutrition side which is the most important

Evidently you haven't watched it much... Some of the contestants on past BL episodes have lost 200+ pounds over the course of 3 to 4 months.

Heavy on A&E is another show dealing with morbid obesity

for many of these people, they have to change their entire lifestyle otherwise they will die

the first episode 2 weeks ago, followed the lives of 2 people from Houston , as the recovery and treatment was filmed in Austin, TX. Tom (37) is 5'9" and weighed 638 lbs .... He would eat 6 dbl cheeseburgers and 3 large orders of McNuggets for lunch.

there's an upcoming episode of a former NFL player who is now homeless and weighs 443 lbs.

I've sworn off watching anything on that network, but congrats to the kid, gets a little tougher to lose weight when you are older and have responsibilities like, a mortgage, a full time job, and a family.

X2! And I'm not sure about 'groped' CM, but I know they dropped 200+ pounds!

MHB, how is it a joke when they get through the end of the season and many have lost close to or more than 45% of their body weight? They discuss nutrition and lifestyle changes quite a bit. They also do reunion shows and follow-ups with past contestants where most of them have maintained the weight loss. The ones that have rebounded are surrounded by support and encouragement to get the weight back off.

I agree brother , How anybody can sit down and watch reality shows on MTV is unkown to me.

All this network produces is trash, dysfunctionality, curse words, physical & mental abuse, and teenage ****ography. These shows are on 24/7 so kids can watch them whenever they want .

SEX and DRAMA definitely increase viewer ratings on TV as it's a shame this kind of filth is directed at the 13-21 year old audience.

I am not saying it is a joke...they do lose the weight lol thats not a joke. Its all abotu the money and making them look the best possible so they do alot of behind the scenes work/strategies to get every possible lb off even if it is water weight.
On a different note it gives morbidly obese peopel motivation. Sweldo you are exactly right about support and encouragement but dont kid yourself, the statistics show most people who lose alot of weight put it all back on within 2 years because they dont maintain this new lifestyle.
