    solana ranch

Looking to make a bow trip this year to your fine state. Not looking for a trophy hunt more a meat hunt with a chance to take a decent whitetail buck. One of the ranches I'm looking at is the solana. Anyone have any feedback on the quality of the hunt? Any recomendations would be appreciated. Not looking for exotics just a quality bowhunt for deer, hogs at a reasonable price.

    Thanks

The pic in the first link is the 2009 Trad Gang hunt. This is just to show you the results of one hunt there for a group of trad guys.

Then go to this link and read through this thread and see what these guys thought of the Solana Rance last month. This was the 2010 Trad gang hunt. There were 18 hunters in camp and to say it was a great hunt would be an understatement. It is long and drawn out nut worth the read, esp if you are thinking of booking a hunt there.

Our ranch (where I live), is 1 ranch over from Solana. I know they have killed 150 class deer out there and several 140 class. Tons of hogs! This season on our place, I was chasing 3 different bucks that were in the 130's. You will have the chance at some great deer, all the hogs you could want and they also have an abundance of turkey. Let me know when/if you hunt there and I'll swing by and see you. I usually go by there several times a season and check out the animals taken and BS with the hunters.

Thanks Chad. We are looking some time in November. Probably the days around the first quarter moon. Big believer in the moon position thing. Not sure how it works on a pay to hunt place but we see more deer 1st and last quarter moon.

Solana is a great ranch to hunt deer and hogs. Last time I checked, it's around 9,600 acres. You won't be disappointed.

Thanks. Does texas have a 5 or 7 day license? At one time I thought you had to buy a season license which was like 300 bills.

They have a general hunting lisc that is 3-5 days or something like that but not a temp deer lisc. The genral lisc will cover hogs and exotics.
