    Any reloaders out there?

I'm thinking about reloading some pistol cases again. Still have the RCBS rock chucker and .45 dies. Just trying to figure out how much $ I would save reloading verses just buying ammo. This will be for the gun range only. Just plan on shooting FMJ stuff. Anybody got any good numbers on saving money?
    Thanks for reading.

Depends on component prices I load 45-70 270 300 win mag 10 mm and 223

I save about 40 to 50 % on most compared to the cheap ammo except the 300 an 45-70 it's more like 60 to 70 over buying loaded rounds.

I'm cheap penny thrift and wait for sales and pick up piecs boxes in order to save so much.

if you buy all the components retail not on sale your probably save 30 to 40%

I reload when I have the time. My dad use to reload abunch so he has all the goodies. Thats where you spend the money dies, press, manuals, etc. Since I kind of walked into the deal I just buy primers, powder and bullets. Ends up saving me atleast half the price. Worth the investment as its a one time cost for the goodies and you can have them forever. I can reload 100 30.06 for the price of 40.

U should save some. It's more about finding the 'perfect' load for me. I only reload for hunting, so I can't speak with any knowledge in your situation.

Here is a caculator to tell you.

            http://www.handloads.com/calc/loadingCosts.asp

I reload 40 S&W and it runs around $13 to $15 per 50 depending on the bullet I shoot. I bought 1000 used brass from brassman.com and this cost does NOT count brass cost.

For pistol ammo, try Berry's plated bullets. They are cheaper than jacketed and don't smoke like lead. Cabelas has them cheapest I've found.

TiteGroup powder works well and is cheap too.

I shot USPSA for 10yrs and went through countless thousands of rounds. Reloading didn't save me any money overall, just cost less to shoot more.

What he said. A little of that Titegroup powder goes a LONG way.

I load for every thing that I shoot my 9mm and 38 spc for IDPA runs me around 8 to 10 $ per box of 50. I shoot cast pills and saves a bunch
also I mail order every thing in bulk with others so that helps cut the cost on Hazmat and shiping and handling. I use alot of HP-38 for plinking loads.
