Who else is duck hunting the last weekend

Went this morning and managed 6 woodies. Had 2 pairs of mallards come in but things didn't work in our favor. Planning on going back in the morning with a 3rd person to shoot more woodies. We very easily could have shot a 5-6 man limit of em this morning. Anyone else going to be in the water tomorrow morning.

Sent "Cohenascopy" to the "Good Spot" early this morning to make sure it wasn't frozen, while I was waiting on a few more hunters to show up. He returned 10 min later and said nope... but there is someone already there. (#1 prime reason I dont hunt public land on weekends) Oh well, they beat us there and are smart enought to set up where they will be shooting directly into houses, and dead into the sun at about....7:35 but I'm not bitter (my dad was in the area ALL morning feeding, and said he heard no shots).

We scrambled ideas and decided on a 20 mile run to flooded timber that I feared was frozen, but hoped the deeper bends were O.K.

One of the best spots was clear of ice, and it was one of the only. About shooting time we worked a large group of mallards and Mowed em down, shot a drake woodie and that was it......thats odd.

Noticed a PILE of spent shells in my spot (I only shot 3 shells, and had 3 birds). After a few calls, we found out the land owned told the game wardens they could hunt Tuesday...and "I know the perfect spot were them boys do good".

This place is HUGE, and we are going to the roost this afternoon. This is the only roost I know that birds show up during shooting hours. We had 7 mallards and 1 Wood Duck....so we got 16 to go!

Gave it a try this morning and they were just flying way too high and had no interest in out tank. Hopefully we have more luck tomorrow in a different spot

Well this morning sucked horribly. We ended up having 5 guns and only 1 bird. It was a complete turn around from yesterday. Deciding wether or not to try again in the morning. Maybe a different hole.
