    Video Game Systems ?

First off, I dont know squat about video game systems that are out there today. I was too busy deer hunting in my younger days to even have a remote interest in them back then. I'm considering getting something for my kids (ages 6 & 9) who are at that age now they are wanting one. I dont want to break the bank and ive seen some of the prices on them including the games
What do you recommend? what about buying a used system? Is it difficult to find games for older systems such as Playstation 1 or 2? What would work best for this age range that is cost effective and user friendly?

    Thanks

I'd recommend a Wii. I'm not the video game type but there's a lot of games I like to play on it. Not the fighting or shooting games but fun 2 player games like tennis, bowling, golf, ping pong. I also bought my wife the Wii fitness game so she can stay in shape. I bought it at Christmas and I think it was $150 and the games I like to play came with it.

I'd look into the Wii, too. Cheaper system. Games are good for all ages and there are plenty of hunting and fishing games!!

          Wii...

Right now is the best time to find used systems with loads of games for the old kids that upgraded to the PS3 or xBox360 at Christmas.

We have a Wii and my 2 boys (7 and 4) love it. I like it too! Cheapest Kudu hunt I have ever been on! lol

Because of their age, I say wii. If you wanted to play ps1&2 games I'd find a backwards compatible ps3.

We have a regular xbox, and wii now. We used to have a PS2. At that age, I would defiantly for with the Wii. It is both fun, and it also makes them active. Instead of just sitting in from of the tv with a remote in their hands.

When I went home on my mid tour leave, I played some dance game, and by the end of one song, I was done.....LOL..

For a "PG" system that you want to remain a family activity, I'd go with the Wii for sure!
It's hands on and even the six yo can have fun with it.

If you're wanting to lose your kids over a battle with the TV go with the X rated Xbox 360 or PS3.
X rated because that's what over half of all the games should be rated if they're not already!
And x rated for the way kids get talked to on there and the way they start taking after playing those games!
Just my opinion.... And coming from an Xbox junky, I'd listen to me!!!
