Just wondering if any one had the luck i had this year at shooting my buck (avatar pic) at 9 yards....has nyone one had a close shot like this......

My management deer last year was at 8 yards....he was paying more attention to the other dominant buck in the feedpen than me and ran right in front of the blind and stopped. It was a chipshot to say the least...I like em like that.....

The closest shot I've made is 12 yards. Had critters closer but didn't have a shot opportunity.

Have had lots of close encounters at refuge. Does and spikes at 1 to 2 yards away but nothing I wanted to shoot

Made a shot at my biggest buck ever at 5 yards, which I guess was the wrong thing to do being 18 feet in the air. Aimed to hit vitals on pass through, but no pass through. Saw him run off with half the arrow out. Two drops of blood and no deer after 6 hours of search. I'm still sick over it.
I had a small 4 point walk through the legs of my tripod this year also.

No buzzards the next two days. My lease is real thick, so it could have taken a while. I am hoping he survived.

Had a couple of young does and a couple of young bucks within 6 yards of my pop up last weekend. No shooters though. I think I would have gotten busted trying to draw on something that close.
