Sometimes you questions if you're raising them right

And sometimes you just know you are. Tonight was one of those nights. My 5 yr. old son (see avatar) loves all things outdoors, hunting, fishing, etc. The avatar is a pic of when I took him deer hunting this year. Usually when I take him with me, I let him carry grandpa's knife. To him this is a very big honor and he takes the responsibility very well. He never met his grandpa but there is a pic in his room and I try to tell him stories when I can. Well tonight I'm reading his library book to him it was a book about the Army fighting forces. He loves the Army now and says that's what he's going to do when he gets older is go fight bad guys to protect others from them. Well tonight the book has a section about the Korean War that I'm reading and I told him that his grandpa fought the bad guys in Korea (my dad was marine infantry and spent over a year there and was on the 38th parallel when they signed the cease fire and a few months after). After reading the book, he was saying his prayer and thanking God for things today and said something to the effect of God tell grandpa thank you for fighting the bad guys and protecting us.

Sometimes I question what I'm doing, other times he shows me I must be doing something right!
