    Coon capping and tanning!

My buddy Scott started gettin' in to trapping. He's currently trying to trap enuff coons and yotes to make a kingsized bedspread. I always wanted to see the process so last Sunday, he called me and told me he trapped a big sow coon. It was pretty cool to see the whole process, from skinning to stretching.

Now for the scrapping. This reminded me of Fight Club when the stole all that human fat to make soap. Gross...

He's saving the hides to make a bedspread. It will cost him about $1000 if he supplies the hides and around $5000 if they supply the hides.

Where can you sell those coons at? I will sell or give away all the coons you want that I trap if you pick them up.

This should be a cool spread. Hope to see finished pics.

I have been having a guy tell me a lot lately that we can sell coon meat if we trap them, so it is actually true?

Coon is very good roasted or barbequed or, if it's a young one, fried. It's a dark meat, and delicious! Don't knock it til you've tried it!

I believe you have to make sure and kill once you trap because its an offense to transport them live, plus if you sell you will need a trappers license, if I understand the regs.
