Some guys are just born tough

After seeing the pro sports athletes whining about scratches and missing games because they felt a pull, it's nice to see a hockey player show what being there for your team is about. Maybe the floopers in other sports should read this.

    An Article from SI
08:47 AM ET 01.17 | In quite an understatement, Panthers coach Peter DeBoer called his captain's effort "pretty gutsy." Captains are supposed to inspire their team, and Bryan McCabe did that Saturday for the Panthers. McCabe, 35, took the ice with a broken finger and then had his jaw and several other facial bones broken when a puck climbed up his stick and ricocheted off his face midway through the first period. McCabe, a 15-year NHL defenseman, missed one shift while trainers attended to him and then finished the game, a 3-2 win over New Jersey. Twelve hours later McCabe was undergoing surgery Sunday at Coral Springs Medical Center to repair the damage and will be out at least two weeks.

Didn't Romo miss a few weeks last year with a broken pinky?
Hockey players do seem to be tougher.

I have had the pleasure to meet several Stars players thelast few years and one thing I can say is they are nuts and tough as can be, especially the Canadians. Also after meeting NFL and MLB players, hockey players are much more the kind of guys you would want to sit down and have a cold one with.

Now that's a cheap shot. I knew it would come back to haunt me.

I was talking to someone about that about 2 weeks ago. You forget what he was willing to give for his team.

I thought it was you but couldn't remember the rest of the conversation. What were we talking about that brought that up?

I miss the dump and chase as well.

I just watched it twice! I love it when Gary Thorne says:

"You will see that shot until the end of time..."
