First I need to apologize to Skylar for the delay in getting this posted. I should have done this immediately.
I am fortunate enough to be a part of a ladies archery group in Weatherford and we had our first hunt as a group the end of Dec. There were 6 of us that went. For some it was the first hunt and opportunity on any animal and others are "pro's". We had a blast. This was my first time to go to the Diamond C. Hats off to Skylar and the set up there. I think we kinda had him scared since we were his first all ladies group but I'm pretty sure he would welcome us back.
We were allowed 2 pigs each and with 6 of us hunting there were 9 animals shot. One of the ladies was able to take her first animal ever.....she is totally addicted now! Skylar really had to put some effort out but he recovered it for her. It was greatly appreciated.
He was gracious enough to let me bring my dog to work on her tracking. And helped me some with her. Which was nice since he has a lot more experience with that than me. Although in hindsight it may not have been the best situation for her young nose. She had only worked on deer before and did ok with the pigs. I think it was kinda scent overload with the number of animals that she was smelling on the trail.
Overall it was a great experience. I would strongly recommend Diamond C to anyone. Our ladies group had the chance to create some new friendships and wonderful new memeories.
