Well we headed out Friday and got to the stand about 4:30 and at 5:30 the some does and a few yearlings came in and I noticed that one of the does had a wound on her shoulder..Well upon closer inspection I could see it was the doe I had shot 2 weeks ago with my bow and did not find...So I gave him the go ahead and he smoked her at 35yds with his Rossi .223 open sights...When I gutted her I found that the arrow had hit her shoulder blad and went straight up out the top of her back barely missing her spine..The arrow never made it through the rib cage..
Saturday morning we saw a few bucks but a fog rolled in and couldnt get a shot..
Saturday evening we were in the blind talking about if the 4 point I had on camera comes he could shoot him..Well 6:00 rolled around and all that was there was a yearling doe and then out of no where the fork horn stepped out..He was at 50yds..We had only practiced at 30yds with his gun..He said he could make the shot so I said ok..He let it rip and the fork horn went 30yds and was down..Perfect shot on both deer..Needless to say I am so happy for him..He is 6 years old and his first hunt was a very successful one..
