Dog Kennel flooring

We are in the process of building a kennel for our Leopard dog and after watching her wallow around in the mud, have decided against a dirt floor.
I see some other options , although I'm still leaning towards concrete with a drain..
What all are you using for your kennel/dog run flooring?

Since mine is not a permanent structure (live in a rental property) I went with cement pavers........ That way it can be moved anytime needed.

My dad has 3 dogs and he bought some plastic squarse that snap together. works great, easy to clean and durable.

Sloped concrete with a smooth finish to it

Concrete with light broomed finish (keeps nails short and still easy to clean). Have seen the paver thing too... it works. Also check a/c dealers they will most of the time give away or sell cheap those 3x3 square pavers that a/c units sit on (what I used for my skinning station (f-i-l is a a/c dealer )

What do you mean "light broomed finish"? Just running a push broom across it to give it texture?

You will want a very,very light finish on it. Crap will stick to anything when you go to clean it out. I have a 10x50 slab with 7 kennels on it. Patek put a light finsh on it for me. Works out great. I have a two inch slope on it. Should of done more of a slope but I didnt want a dog to able to get its muzzle under the kennel. Some treated wood would be cheaper and easy I think but I cant measure to save my life and concrete helps keep the nails filed down.

Sloped Cement with drains if permanent, pavers are good for temporary...

I had some stall mats cut and fit for mine, to keep the cement from staining.

Thats kind of what we are thinking..
4" slab with a 6 inch slope to a built in gutter that goes to a in-ground drain.

So i should lightly texture the concrete?

6'' is alot of slope for a small slab.

Definitely want a brooked finish. It will help keep the dogs pads tougher.

too much texture and your dog is going to rub it's chest and elbows raw when laying down. I built a wooden platform for mine using 4x4 posts and 1x6's, this gets my dog 4in. off the cold ground and better for insulation in his igloo during these cold spells. Sprays off easy as well and no need for a slope and a drain. Plus, i think it looks a lot nicer and smells good. Make sure to use screws instead of nails so you can take it apart and transport it if ever needed. Mine is a 10x10 pad and I believe total costs were somewhere around $300-350. Took about 2 hours to complete

We built a wood floor with corral boards and put it on 3" x 12" x 12" blocks.
