    *****Moving a carport, help needed*****

My G/F's uncle gave us one of those portable car ports and was wondering on the easiest way to move it without taking it totally apart. It's a 12X20, if anyone has an easy way to do it let me know. I have attached a picture of what it looks like. Thanks for any advise given.

    Thanks,
    Spencer

    Move it today.
Turn upside down and slide across the snow.

Too treacherous for me to drive, but you gotta admit, it's an idea.

An idea. Bolt 2x4s or something like it from one side of the legs to the other low enough so that the 2x4s will be what sits on the rails of the trailer. Just a thought, did this with a swing set before.

If your not going too far, something like what elite said would work. Another way is if you take the last row of screws out of the sides, you can set the top off and take the legs off the base. Its still a little work, but not taking the whole thing apart.

That is wider than a normal traffic lane . that might cause issued.

The time it would take to take and apart and put back would could not be that bad.

We moved one like this for my grandmother several years ago. We got a peanut trailer that was very tall and just picked it up and Let it ride on the sideboards. We didn't have to move it but about a mile down a F.M. Road. Redneck yes. Time saver YES!

Not hard to uninstall. Start with the roof, that will be the hardest part. 3 guys can put one up in an hour, hall on 16 ft trailer!
