I went in to work Friday morning to discover my position had been eliminated.

I am searching hard and heavy for work. I'm in the south Ft Worth area if anyone knows of any openings please let me know. My primary experience is in sales/sales management, but I'm very diverse in my knowlege and not so proud I won't consider other avenues.

Man that stinks, but a little word of advice here. My lady lost her job about 2 weeks before Christmas and has been searching ever since. She put in over 25 applications in two weeks and didn't hear a word from any of them. We were told by my brother, who has management experience with a large manufactuing facility, that alot of companies are turning to staffing agencies for their hiring. They get to try you out for 90 days, then hire you on full time if they like you. Saves them time and money, especially since they don't pay benefits during your 90 days with the staffing agency, then you go through a new 90 day probation/exclusion period, so they don't pay benefits for 6 months. Anyway, she went to a staffing agency and had a job offer within 3 days, she starts Tuesday with the largest employer in our area.

Bingo! I do it a little differently though. I use the time with the temp service as the probationary period. Gives me a little more flexability with my work force. Sometimes I have to go through several employees before I find on that is the right fit. P.M. me if you need some info on temp agencies in the area. I use several of them and I can lead you to the right service and person if you need it.

First of all I want to thank everyone for their input. There is some good stuff here.

Now a little about me. My most recent area of sales was retail. The majority of my experience is in wholesale distribution of goods to music stores, car audio stores, jewelry stores, pawn shops and Internet dropshippers.

I have a very good working knowlege of warehouse distribution.

I have worked hurricane claims for Hurricane Rita.

I am the type of person who thrives on helping people find a solution to their problems.
I'm very level headed the type of person who keeps the rest of the crew calm and focused when stress is heavy an they want to panic.

I learn extremly quickly and take instruction well.

I built and directed a sales staff of 20+ between two distribution centers producing $30MM in sales.

I can get the job done I just need a place to do it. :-)
