    Packaging and Freezing Tamales???

I just picked up 38dz tamales from Granny's in Humble. Each dozen is packaged together and wrapped in foil, however it isn't heavy duty foil and you can see some small areas on the ends that aren't completely covered. How should I go about packaging these for the freezer? Should I vacuum seal them, use regular freezer bags, or any other ideas?

    Thanks,
    Brandon

Depends on how long before you use them. If it will be a while I would vacuum them.

Vacuum seal or freezer bags. The key is to get them frozen quick.

If vacuum sealed, how long can I expect them to be good in the freezer?

I've got deer meat from last year that's still fresh when I thaw it out.

I froze about 12 dz last year after I vacume sealed them. They taste just the same last week, as they did the day I brought them home. I would think vacume sealing would be about to go at a minimum 1.5 yrs if not longer.

I buy from there and I just put them in zip lock bags and keep them wrapped in the foil and then freez them.

This is my thinking too. Freeze'em while they're still very fresh and moist. You can't go wrong vacuum sealing.
