This! ^^^ I had nasal polyps removed in March of 2001. Such a relief and the healing is better with every passing day.

I had mine down around 98 or 99 and drained/bled like a stuck pig. Part of it they also broke and straightened my nose from being broken previously so there was some extra irritation and swelling.

When they started pulling the gauze out i swear I was waiting for my brain to come out any minute because it seemed like they would never stop pulling!

JUst wait til that first blast of cold air hits ya after they get the packing out!

Been there, done that. Yes it's normal.

Funny story along with it. I was scheduled for court the day after the surgery and had called and told the court investigator to have the court rescheduled over a month prior to the surgery. He didn't. Prosecutor called wanting to know why I wasn't there, the THE JUDGE called me at home- ******. Said he wanted me in court. Told him to send someone to get me because I couldn't drive due to the painkillers and to have lots of kleenex and a biohazard bag handy for the bloody mess draining from my nose. Still got a little flack from him, so told him he was welcome to call my doc- but his beef was with HIS court investigator- not me. He hung up mad, but never called back. That's the ONLY time I've ever had a judge call me at home.

Plan on having unexplained bloody noses off and on for quite awhile.

I had my sinus surgery about four years ago. OMG I can breath.
But, it was even better, when they removed the matress, outta my nose.

Yes the drainage is normal and will go away over time. I've had 6 sinus surgeries over the past 12 years, and during each one they removed numerous polyps. My problem is that even with nasal steroids my polyps keep coming back.
