I am in benavides and I saw some pre rut going on but doesnt seem like it hit very hard where I am. This past weekend i heard a lot of action (chasing and crashing in the woods) very little action at the feeders. I would say its on

Maybe a secondary rut, but primary rut was a few weeks ago.

I hunt in Falfurrias. Have not seen hard chasing but there was some chasing the week of 12/6-12/10. I have been there every weekend and have not seen it like last year.

I'd have to agree with this. I hunted down there for years and you should already be in the secondary rut.

I hunt in Three Rivers and I'm hoping it's hot and heavy the next 2 weekends. Seen some pre-rut activity the last couple of weekends but nothing too heavy.

I'm around fowlerton, and it was pre rut activity there a month ago... the deer have pretty much stopped fighting, with sporadic chasing. I think the second rut, and the fawns coming into season should be getting started soon though.

20 miles due north of Freer on Hwy. 16 the rut was going off day before Christmas in the low fenced area I hunt. The high fence area next door I hunt looks to be about a week or two behind.

i was down there this weekend, East of Freer and they were on the end of the rut. The bucks were still chasing a little but they ALL looked real run down.
