    Pit blind question

If you were going to make a permanent pit blind
    1. would you rather enter from the roof of the blind or the side wall?
    2. If the front wall facing the feeder was 8' long how many windows and what size preference?

I'm sure I'll have more questions as I go, but was just wandering what everyone thought.

Just my opinion!! BUT if i were going to build one i'd put the door on the side b/c if you get into it and theres a snake in it you wont have to CLIMB out!! Ya know!!?? As far as windows, me and a buddy built a blind to leave up instead of a pop-up and we cut the windows 6" wide and 18" tall. For the spacing? Well our blind was an octagon and we had a window on every wall but didn't always open every window. For yours, i'd say every 2 or three feet apart maybe. Hope this helps!

You need to ask Brett, his username is Sticks&Strings. They have some pit blinds they built on there ranch. He can probably give you some good input along with pictures. He modeled them after the pit blinds they used on his African Safari. They are extremely nice and designed specifically for bow hunting. I know the windows have double sided mirrors so that you can see out, but the animals cannot see in. They see their reflection. They also have windows with shoot through mesh. He can give you all the details. They did an extremely nice job.

I went with a back entry door on mine. My windows (2) are about 30" wide and 15 " tall as best I can remember...

FYI, this is what it looked like without the walls. Your feet go in the hole and you sit on the (padded) concrete...

Thanks for the input. I see your point with the snake issue, but hopefully it will be snake proof.

Thanks Kevin I'll try to contact Brett, and see about some photos and the windows.
