Found this guy trapped under a tree root

Must have been a terrible way to go. His antler was stuck under a tree root that ran along the ground. At first glache I thought a small limb had fallen on the antler after the buck died, but when I tried to move the limb I realized it was a tree root. Had to dig one side out from under the root. Any guess on his age-(From what teeth he has) and what he would score? His inside spread was 21 3/4" and his long G-3 was 11 1/2"

Wow what a shame. Thats an awesome deer. Do you have the bottom jaw? Its a better age determinate.

It's a shame how they break tines off all the time, but when they really NEED one to break off, it doesn't. Great find, though! I would either bleach the skull out or spray paint it with aluminum paint. (Makes the skull look like it's made of pewter.) You can darken the horns with some dark walnut stain.

Beautiful deer and congrats on the find. I'm betting he's at least 155.
