Ballistics guru's...... can you tell me?

I am thinking of going to the range tomorrow and letting off a few rounds. My question is this, and I don't know if it can be answered.

Where I am going for sure has a 100 yrd range and possibly a 200 yrd range. IF there is only a 100 yrd range, can I sight in at 200, 300, 400 at that range?

Is there shorter yardages that will get me close at those ranges?

The round in question is: 22.250 Remington 55 gr.

I have mine dead on at 200 and I don't know about anything further if you are not able to actually shoot at those distances. You might be able to get close if nothing else. If you are going to Hotwells talk to Tyler, he should be able to help you with no problems at all. Good Luck!!

A ballistics program will get you close.

22" or 24" barrel and any guess on velocity? 3400fps?

What brand/kind of ammo DJ? I can get you very close if I know that.

What do you want it to be zeroed at?

at 100 yards you should be about inch and 1/4 to a half for 300 yards.

Not according to this. And I've found it to be very accurate.

It's an iPhone app called iSnipe. It's not free but only like $6.

The chart I posted will get you very close. The app has a lot of factory loads in it and the one you said you are using is the one I picked. What range do you want the rifle zeroed at? I can plug in an unlimited number of scenarios.

                            I have always zeroed @100

But am open for suggestions..... Can you figure how high it should hit shootin 200 at a 100 yrd target?

I know it won't be exact but until I can get out and shoot at the longer ranges, I would like to try to get somewhat close.

If I'm understanding what you are asking me to figure, the chart below shows a 200 yard zero and it would be shooting an inch high at 100 and 6" low at 300. I usually zero most of mine at 250 unless I know I will be shooting longer ranges.
