    Pop up blind question!!!

I love hunting brushed in pop up blinds and I've hunted nearly all of them. The double bull, bone collector, red head, primos, ameristep ect ect... I've never had a outlet to ask this question though it pops into my mind generally a few times a year. I'm in a live hunt in atascosa county. It has been drizzle rain all day long. My pop up is at the base of a tree and brushed in pretty good. My problem is I keep hearing that popping and thumping sound every time a drop of water lands on the roof.... Now, I doubt the sound affects the deer that much but it does cloud my hearing when I'm listening for game creepin around or hogs rooting ect ect... Has anyone eliminated this sound or am I just a crazy person for wanting it gone?????

I know what you mean, I have often thought about putting some egg crate foam in the roof inside and see if it would insulate it from that sound.

Never had it bother them as long as is has been there for awhile..... As for your hearing. If it has been drizzleing long or has rained lately, you more than likely won't hear anything coming unless they snort or blow.........leaves will be nice and wet.

I put on old blanket (green color) over the shell then laid (cut limbs over the top). Never had any problem with the "Drip Drop" of rain hitting the top.. Good luck

Good solution young buck for the sound dilemma. I'll try this for my Double Bull next season.

Remember you are inside the "drum" so it is louder to you. When you leave stand outside and listen and i think you will see it is not that loud. I have never had one spook because of it raining.

                    Yep!!!
                    Don't hunt while it's rainin!!!
Without going thru a lot of trouble, I would just deal with it. Like DJ said, everything will be wet. You ain't goin to hear a deer walk in. Hogs, maybe, if there's a lot of'em!!!

Get you some of that walmart burlap and tarp above it.
I have 2 popups and that bothers me as well.
Put some brush over the popup then burlap and little more brush. This should help allot.

I think your trying to hard.. The deer/hogs wont spook if its been there. I once hunted a ladder stand that creeked with the wind. They were used to it by the time season came it so it didn't matter.

You just have to pay attention since you wont hear them coming

In October, I had grasshoppers jumping into, on, and crawling around all over my popups. It didn't affect the deer, but it sure made it hard to tell if I was hearing grasshoppers or deer walking in.
