Aaron (8yo) and I went out to this morning to try to get him on his second deer. The movment has been late, or against us every hunt latley. If we hunt in the morning the deer are coming in in the evening or visa versa. Well I figured the COLD would help us this morning. It was 26. He had a new jacket and rifle sling from Christmas he wanted to try out also. We decided to skip church, said some prayers in the stand and went for it. I'm happy we did. We had two yearling doe come in. The second was the larger of the two and waiting for her to give a clear shot while the other was at a perfect pose was difficult for him. He had the shakes bad he was so excited. He made a perfect shot, and she dropped on the spot. Two for two ever on the whitetail. Gonna try for pigs pretty soon. Anybody know a place we can get inside 50yards on some and use a gun? Thanks, and Happy New Year TBH.
