and it was worth it!!! I only rifle hunt a few times during the season. I've been at a friends ranch since Thursday evening trying to fill some tags. After not having any luck this morning we headed back to the cabin. I turned on "A Christmas Story" and started breakfast. I heard Keith holler "DEER! F-F-Fallow! wheres your gun!?" There were 3 deer at the back of the cabin about 40 yards off the deck. I stopped cooking breakfast and since shooting from the cabin isn't allowed, Keith opened the sliding glass door and I leaned against the doorway, with one knee on the deck (Technically I wasnt IN the cabin 
) and fired. She dropped right where she was. The other 2 ran about 30 yards and hung out for a few minutes before wandering off but they never gave me a shot.
A white Fallow doe on Christmas, doesn't get much better than that. I'm blessed to have such a great friend. Last year on New Years Eve he let me shoot an Axis buck out here.
