Well we are back at home, my battery on the phone ran out, so here is the recap. Pigs never showed back up so we left the stand and drove to another part of the place. Tyler decided that he wanted to try his hand at rattlin. I thought to myself, this ought to be good. We got set up on a fencerow behind the corner posts and he went at it with great enthusiasm. I was turned around telling him that he should start a little bit softer so he wouldn't scare everything off when he said, Dad theres a buck coming.
I look around and sure enough a small eight was curious enough to come in and see what was making all the racket. I wish it would have been something on the hit list as that would have made the entire hunt even better. I expected Tyler to be a little down when I told him we couldn't shoot the buck, but he said he understood that we are trying to grow bigger deer.
All in all a great morning with one of my best hunting buddies. It was awsome to see the look on Tylers face when that deer came charging in and stopped at 10 yards in front of him.
