    Removing antlers from old skull

I like to make simple items like corkscrews, bottle openers, wine stoppers and drawer pulls from sheds I've picked up. I recently found this partial skull with a pretty good rack on it:

My question - what's the best way to remove the antlers from the skull? I like to use the bases but will they come off cleanly from the pedicle like they do when they fall off naturally? Should I saw them off? Just get out a hammer and chip away at the skull?

I use a Saws-all on the Dead-Head I find and it looks like a shed

Sawzall is easiest but a hacksaw works very nicely then use belt sander or a file to smooth it up.

Linseed oil works great on horns as well.

This works great for restoring bleached and dried antlers.
