My father-in-law quit cold turkey at the age of 71. Had been smoking since he was 14. RIP

Quitin was easy I did it a hundred times or so. It's a little known fact the body uses Nicotine up quickly. if you weigh #175-#225 the body will use it is supple in 32-50 hours, There is a 3 day window, then the body is no longer needing it because it's gone. after that it's a mental thing.

It's a tough situation, I'm out 13 yrs now, I still catch myself reaching for a smoke. So it's a uphill walk, not a struggle.

I guess when I had a test done after 3-4 yrs of not smokin, they discovered the two main arteries comin out of the side of the heart, one each side (the ones that feed the top and bottom of the heart) at the "Y" was 49.9% blocked.
I was a sever massive heart attack waiting to happen.
Why 49.9% over 50% you can't take meds but your not bad enough to do the bypass(insurance wise) so they hit me hard with meds now I'm 23% and 25% blocked

The nicotine in my blood acts like glue.

Now ya know part of the reason I'm coming to Texas in October to hunt, my candle is burnin on both ends.

70 hrs is all ya need, then take it one day at a time, then count the days till ya hit 100, I know youd hate to get all those quit days under yer belt and have to start over.

Good luck my friend, it's tough....... not impossible.

I quit 23 yrs ago, 3 cartons a week, dipped and chewed also. If you are realy going to quit, just quit. Try hard candy or gum. It is a mind set, If you use a croutch, it could take a long time. I had a goal, the money I saved I put towards my first new truck payment!! It worked for me!

YOU HAVE TO WANT TO QUIT!!!!!!!!

For the people that bear hunt in Quebec with me that smoke, we make them wear a pork chop around their neck when they go to the stand to cover the smoke smell.
That ought to be some motivation.

January 8th will be 4 years since I quit using Chantix. Worked very well for me after puffing on them for 35 years. I can't express the difference in the way I feel almost 4 years later.

the fact of the matter is, until you have made up your mind you are completely ready to quit, you are not going to. you have to be totally ready to quit before you ever will.
