I have the Razers and they are top of the line. I will put them up against any of the High brand names any day. Don't know much about the Vipers but with vortex you can't go wrong.
The Vipers are what I use whitetail or elk. Extremely bright and clear. I use them for that reason and they are much lighter than the Razors. Now as Brandon said the Razor will do as well as any $2000 binos for less than half I just like the smaller lighter Viper for my style hunting. The other day though I was wishing I still had my Razors for some late evening long range viewing. Razor's would be the way to go for extreme bird watcher's for sure!
the razors used to be about $500 higher. vortex is coming out with a new line (supposedly), and dropped the price on them.
Today, I spoke to the guy I ordered them from and he said they are discontinuing the Razor line and will come out with a HD model, but said expect the price to be at or above 1k.
I was wanting some 12x50,but they were out of stock. Being as I do hunt alot of open terrain, I hope the larger magnification of the 15x50's does not kill the light gathering ability during low light.
I have a pair of the 10x50 razors, and they are awesome. you might lose a little bit of light gathering with th e15x, but it's a give and take... I would have picked th 12 x if I did it over again. I never checked the 15 power ones though. Let us know how they are. they are going to be nice though. I have a vortex viper scope, and it's brighter and more clear than a leupold VXIII
That's great news to hear about the scope due that I have a VXIII and think it's pretty good at low light. They said if I want, I can try it out for a week or so and send back if I want to exchange for the Razor 12x, just pay shipping and difference in cost.
