IT help please!

I am at whits end with these darn onboard speakers... I dont know what is going on... after a reload I cannot get them to work. its everyone I rebuild. I am missing something.

I have all the drivers dell wants installed on this optiplex 760... but internal speakers wont play! if I plug externals in they will...

sound drivers are installed. I installed the uaa hd audio stuff. still nothing. no beeps nothing.

please help. give me some ideas...

Since they are onboard are there any settings for audio in the BIOS???

What do you mean by rebuild? Are you installing the optional internal chassis speakers into these PCs? Just trying to get an idea of what exactly your doing. I'm sure you know this model uses front panel diagnostic codes during post to indicate trouble unless the optional speaker is present, hence no onboard sound.

if it is xp, go into control panel, sound and audio devices, provided you have all the drivers installed properly, you will see an general tab down at the bottom right you should see an advanced button, click it, the new window should comeup, the speaker tab...in this you should have a drop down box at the bottom that lets you select internal or whatnot....try messing around with that to see if you can get anything....
