Cool Find going thru old stuff

I found a 1922 Silver Peace Dollar in a box that I have had for a while. Not sure where this came from but I am guessing my grandfather. Pretty cool looking coin.

Also found a solid silver 1964 quarter. At least mostly silver.

    Pretty cool...

Cool finds! I've been fortunate enough to have a little "help" with my coin collections.

My grandmother (90 years young and still kickin!) has over 50 of them, the oldest is 1888(not a peace dollar tho). She gave me 20 of them from various dates that I have put away not to mention the numerous rolls of Barber dimes, Mercury dimes, "V" back nickels, 4 bank bags of Susan B. Anthony dollars, 2 bank bags full of Eisenhower dollars, and over 100 "Barr" one dollar bills.

This one I carry daily. The hole was in it before she ever got it. Maybe someone used it as a keychain, who knows.

It was also a common practice to wear one around your neck with your dog tags for good luck during ww1 and ww2.

I didn't know that. Very well could have been used in that fashion. Thanks for that info!

Great Grandma once told me that old conis were put on a necklace and used by teething babies to chew/gum on.
