    Hunt's Castle!!

My wife and I will be going to the coast next month and I was hoping someone might have some information about Hunt's Castle in Rockport Tx. We are looking into one of the cabins (#2) they have and would like too know the opinions of people that have already stayed here (accomodations, location to the beach and ammenities). All information will be greatly appreciated, even about other locations for lodging!

    Thanks, Mudbone

I have been there a bunch but never this late in year. Decent place but I haven't stayed in the cabins. They didn't look very impressive to me.

Its right on the water but there is no beach at the hotel. There is a beach very close by, maybe a mile but I never used it. Your very close to a little strip of shops but I'm not sure what will be open this time of year. There is also a "marine" museum within a mile or two that I would recomend and a very small aquariam display in another building. Plenty of good eating places within a short drive.

In the summer and fall there can be some excellent fishing off the pier. I have zero experience with it this time of year though. Night fishing can be pretty good under the lights but you have to work thru 10 or 20 undersized specks to maybe get one to stretch 15"s Lots of fun though!!! Have a great trip!!!

Every time the wife and I go to Rockport, we always stay at Pelican Bay Resort. They have awesome little New-England style cabins. Check out their website for the prices. I think the site is pelicanbay.com.

Stayed there this summer, not horriable, but will not go back. Go to the Lighthouse Inn, you will not regret it !!!!!!
