    Now?? Use my Tinks #69?

I used it on the last saturday of Archery, got blown and you all suggested I had the Tinks out too early. Will this weekend be the right time to get the Tink bomb out? (I am in Western Wharton County - west of Houston)

i had the same experience with using an estrous scent too early in the season. I had deer uncomfortable with the scent and snorted.

i hunt in kimble county and i am breaking itall out for this coming weekend. tarsal scent, estrous scent, decoy and some rattling.

    i say give it ago.

I put out Tinks last weekend and didn't get any blowout. They were there, but chose to ignore it. I also put out regular ole' doe pee to keep the live does in the area. Next weekend, I'll get a little more agressive with the scents.

That said - I ain't no expert in scents. Hopefully, Tink has found his way here and will respond shortly.

Mudshack sorry to burst your bubble, but I BELIEVE the rut has been over in your area for over 8 weeks. Maybe early fawns are coming in. Check TWPD for rut chart but if I remember correctly, they have doucmented does being bred in your area as early as the end of August.

Also, I like to use the scents away from my feeder. Does are not to crazy about 69 but the bucks like it. Thats pretty much why the does hate it.

If I was you, I wouldn't put out #69 until I saw the deer actually rutting. I would much rather be sure of the rut than put it out and get blown again.

yepper, I wouldn't use it until I saw them chasing, but I would use some dominant buck just to get 'em fired up!!

I'm in north east Gonzales Co., and the P&W bioligists for our WMA told me yesterday, that our rut is hot and heavy right now. As the crow flies, we are not too much farther west . I have seen deer rutting during dove season around Bay city and Wharton before. This is my 1st year on this place, but my neighbor told me the rut usually takes place right about now, with some activity as late as christmas.

Tracey, Tink is on the road and won't be back for awhile. I talked with him recently and he is making his way from Illinois to Iowa and is freezing his "toes" off up there. I had to rub it in that we were having 78 degree weather down here

Well, guys on the lease have seen bucks chasing does. I have yet to see a buck (other than a yearling 3-pt). And based on the charts, the rut should be at it's peaks here. Biggest think I have to over come right now......is just getting out into the blind.
