In March, Mason and I were fortunate enough to take a couple of animals at the Diamond C Ranch in Caddo - original story http://discussions.texasbowhunter.co...d.php?t=135457. On our way home from this trip, we dropped off both animals with Josh McDaniel of Rooster’s Wildlife Creations in Spicewood.
After several months of discussion with Josh, this past Saturday was the day we arranged to pick up the finished products. I got the boys up early and after a kolache stop, we pointed the family truck-ster West on 290. We made it to Spicewood earlier than expected and Caleb was craving eggs of all things…we found a little diner that fit the bill and exceeded our expectations.

We met Josh and his lovely girlfriend at his shop. Josh put some finishing touches on the animals and we had a nice time visiting and just looking over the trophies that had been brought in to his shop since our last visit. We would also be transporting a couple of whitetail mounts to their owner who lives not too far from us – the truck-ster was somewhat full.

No trip to this part of the state is complete without a stop at Cabela’s. We detoured thru Buda, made a couple of purchases and the hurried back home in time for our annual progressive dinner party. Before getting ready, I had to hang up the two shoulder mounts and snap a few pics.

I really like the way Josh made my sika look…head tilted down, ears back… Shannon even commented,”…she is so pretty and looks so real.”

And Mason’s ram is really cool…I am glad we chose this form.

Who knew a Rooster could do such fine work?
I am more than pleased with what Josh created for me and Mason…I wouldn’t hesitate using or recommending Josh in the future.
