Heading to Disney World! Any tips?

We are heading to the "most magical place on earth" as my daughter would put it. Gonna be there for a week. Wife has done a fair amount of research, but could always use some insider info from those that have been there.

Hopefully I can get a few LDP's of Mickey, Donald, and especially of the Beast. I hear though, that the Beast is pretty elusive. Wish me luck!

Went with my Grandkid's in May. Two words of advice:
        1. Take LOTS of Money
        2. Go to the fireworks show at the Magic Kingdom but get prepared for the Stroller Derby to the gate once it is over :-)

Ditto on fast passes. Watch the light parade and fireworks one night at magic kingdom from near entrance to park best view in the park and when its done your first out of the park! After seeing it once its the same every night. Use the other nights to hit the most popular rides because they all stay open. As the other 200,000 people in the park crowd main street you have free regin to rides with little to no wait. We rode splash mountain and runaway railroad (normal wait 2hrs) each 5 times one night without even getting off the ride!

Magic Kingdom the train around the park is quick way to get from frountier town to otherside of park around future land.

Animal kingdom Hit the safari ride first thing in AM and fast pass Everst, You have to have each persons ticket to do fast pass, what we would do I would take all tickets and go fast pass something and my wife and kids would go get in line for something else. The way lines snake around it's easy to get back up with them. Cost me extra leg work but made trip more enjoyable for the rest o fthe family. I am also not a big thrill ride person so while they rode those I would fast pass things.

MGM' star wars, rockin roller coaster and Tower usually have long lines hit star wars first then, even though on opposite ends its realatively small park, go do tower or rockin fast pass one and get in line for the other. Other thing that fills pretty quick is the toy story ride.

Epcot Only couple rides Soarin and fast track fast pass one ride the other and take rest of park in at your own pace.

Hope that helps out we've been 4 times now in past 18 years and have learned a couple things. Have fun.

Lots of money and very comfortable shoes to walk in.

Let me also mention some very comfortable walking shoes.

Have fun! My wife, son and MIL are going to be there the 26 - 30th.

If you have not already done so, try searching Disney on here as well as the Disney trips seem to pop up a couple times a year and there's always good advice.

Like Big Todd pointed out with MGM, the Star Wars simulator ride is one of my favorites and heading to the back of MGM first thing I can ride it 2 to 3 times with no wait while my wife lines up fast passes elsewhere.

this gets asked from time to time and my answer is always the same: run (don't walk) to the bookstore to buy THE UNOFFICIAL GUIDE TO DISNEY WORLD.

make sure you get the UNOFFICIAL guide. it tells the truth about where to go, how much $ to bring, how to save money and time, which rides to ride when, which rides scare kids, etc.

it's worth every penny. get one!

                        Good info above.

I recommend getting ridemax. Used it on our last visit and it is freakishly accurate and maximizes your experience. Well worth the expense.

Stay INSIDE the park! Don't even try to drive back and forth every day.The hotel key doubles as a credit card.

Fast pass and patience are a must. Remember that it's Summer time in a lot of other annoying countries.

Leaving myself on Weds--with wife, son & wife, and granddaughter--

After paying plane tix, hotel, entrance and special event tickets--no money left, but we are doing this instead of buying Christmas presents this year.
