Despiration - Where Would You Put Stand?

Ok, I'm gonna give one last ditch effort to getting on a good buck at my hunting spot. This place is less than 30 acres, bordered on 2 sides by subdivisions, and then a highway and open land on the other 2 sides. Here is a picture of the land.

    Red Area - Hunting Land
    Blue Dot - Current Stand

As far as I know, everything within the orange line is unhunted by anyone but me. The yellow area to the bottom left is a heavily wooded area that I think the deer funnel into and hang out in. The green area is all within eyesight of a house, so I want to stay away from it as much as possible. I've seen a lot of deer sign back behind the number 2. Last year, I had a buddy hunt out there with me, and he put a stand/feeder at the number 2. He saw totally different deer than I saw at my stand (the blue dot). I had a camera around the 1 earlier this season, but I saw most of the same deer that were coming to my stand at the time(blue dot). The deer do cross the road at the bottom, but it's usually in the middle of the night. I rarely see deer along the road during hunting times. I'm not seeing any deer lately, so I'm desperate to stir something up.

So the question is, with all of that in mind, where would you put a stand for a few last chance hunts? I have a feeder to put there, just to try to draw something in over the next few weeks.

    Number 1 or 2?

I would put it at 2 because it seems there is a residential area to the left of 1, any deer coming to a feeder in 1 would be coming from the top side of the picture, therefore travelling through 2. I think you got it in the right spot brotha, its just a matter of time.

Maybe go a little south? of the blue dot, right above or in the group of trees that looks like a right angle.

What is the trail/line running through the area?

The white line is the road going to the back side of the property. The line going from the road towards the left is an old fenceline that's kinda on a little ridge of brush. The fence stops where the line disappears.

Yes. I only bowhunt this location. Wouldn't dare take a gun that close to homes.

I agree with everyone else, I think you have the right spot.

Ditch the feeder and hand throw some corn inthe thickest brush on the place that you can set up on.

Have you seen any big bucks in the area? Do they hang out in the subdivision at all? If I was just looking at the photo with no info, I would not think it is thick enough for a good/big buck to spend too much time in the area...unless the deer are fed by the people in the subdivision.

                Just my thoughts...

BINGO! Ricky beat me to it. I only hunt over hand thrown corn and I've been tagged out for a couple weeks now. Take this for what it is worth but this is what I would do. I'm assuming you have a feeder up and running where the blue dot is? If so, shut er down (disconnect battery). If you have a pop up, put it a hundred yards south of your location (a bit closer to funnel area) and brush it in the best you can. Start hand throwing corn in your shooting lanes for a couple of days then hunt it.

If this don't work I'll send ya some arrowheads out of my collection.

Right where you have the #1 hand throw corn. Both sides of the road there have a lot of trees and they probably cross the road there anyway.

Hey Will!!! I found your hunting spot. A few close ups of the existing and proposed location.

Look at Richards pic. It's at 1 & corn, close to the road. It looks to be a decent spot.
BV, I see that your right off the temple lake park road. Should be deer there.

I've seen some pretty good bucks on this place over the years. Had 2 nice bucks on camera morning and night under my feeder until season opened. I'm not sure where they've gone. I've seen one pass into the big back section once, but the other one was always like a ghost. Never knew which direction he'd come from, and he was roaming the whole place. Back behind that big open area north of my section, a guy killed a 152" a few years ago.
