I want to know a little bit about it before I apply, can someone who works there PM me?

I have a friend that works there and I'm up the interstate at Temple FD. From what I know Austin FD is a good dept to work for. My advice, if you are just getting into the fire service is not to limit yourself to just one or two depts, look and apply at several and get hired on at one then start working your way to your "dream dept". Best of luck!

Ive been in the fire service for a few years, but my goal when I started was to end up in a larger city, for some reason I want the call volume. It's not that I'm limiting myself, I just have a couple cities in mind that I could see myself retiring in, and I'm gonna set my goals to them. Until then I'll stick where I'm at and gain the experience.
