    Charged by a Boar @ 10yards

This past weekend was slow hunting at our lease. I saw some young deer but nothing mature. The area I hunted was near a hilltop that I heard hogs on all weekend. Sunday morning it sounded like a battle royal on the hill top. But I saw no hogs at the feeder 200 yards from the location of all the noise. I finally got ready to leave Sunday around 2pm and thought I would stalk up the hill. As I get to the top the hill is covered up with thorn thicket briar bushes, super thick stuff. I had to crawl through some parts to not make any noise. I worked my way along the top and could hear hog noises then I could smell them. I knew I was close at this point. Wind in my face I crawled in the thicket. The hogs new I was there but I don't think they new what I was. They kept attacking the brush between us at about 10 or 15 yards. Growling and snorting and then they would back off. This went on for 5 to 10 minutes. Then I saw a big boar hog at 15 yards but could not get the cross hairs on him fast enough. Then the attacking the brush started again. I kept looking behind me so I would not get steam roled from behind. I am still on my knees looking at hogs moving in front of me at 15 yards. I finally got one in the cross hairs and shot. The hole area came to life, there must have been a but load of hogs on that hill. I could hear part of the group coming back, then the brush attacking started again. A few minutes later a good size boar hog comes through the brush less the 10 yards away. He was about 150 maybe 175lbs. He was coming to fight, as soon as he sees me he is coming! I had my cross hairs on his head and when I pulled the trigger I hit his back leg. He moved a whole body length in a blink. So now he is spinning circles screaming his head off 6 feet away. I chamber my last round and finish him. I am still on my knees with no bullets and hogs all around me running different directions. I killed 2 hogs and got the rush of a life time. I got another guy to help get the hogs off the hilltop. Once I showed him what went down he said there was no way he would ever tried that. He would have been to scared, not to mention on his knees the whole time eye level with those hogs. He said I was crazy. Maybe so but, What A Rush!!!!!

There is a pump jack near this hill and pops like a guns shot every 30 minutes. I think thats why they didn't run far after the first shot.

What you need is a couple of good dogs. Then you could get that kind of rush all the time.

Luck...We are now offering that cartridge on our Trojan line. I spent a day with Johnny Rowland being filmed for his TV show Gears and Guns last month. Great guy. How do you like the round.

D12 i don't mean to hi-jack. That sounds like a trip man. The only thing making you sound crazy in my book is being under gunned. You should try it again with a with a shot gun full of 00buck. I bet you could have filled the back of yer truck. Cngrats, got any pics?

Yup, they're mean critters when cornered or threatened. A guy I know trapped two smallish sows in a hog trap last weekend...they were trying to eat us through the wire!

Hmmmmmmm, I seem to remember a smallish hemmed up sow in a video before the crash. She seemed not happy about being harassed!!
