    Buffalo Hunt...Help!

Im going on a buffalo hunt with my bow after christmas and was wondering if anybody had any good recipes or ideas on how to fix the meat. Will the ribs be like beef, can I cut steaks, etc.

    Any ideas are appreciated!

I'd have it done the exact same as you would a cow. To your rib question, I've had awesome buffalo ribs before, but they certainly weren't smoked. Seemed like they may have started on a pit to get a little smokey flavor, but were finished in an oven with sauce to keep them moist.

I eat a lot of buffalo meat because it is tastier and leaner than other meats. The ribs have tendency to come out dry so try and cook them in a water smoker or place a pan of water in the smoker.

Burger, steaks and roasts. Ribs, tenderloin and backstrap.

Treat it like you would beef, just don't cook it as long.

I have an electric smoker so that should be alright for the water solution, correct? I guess I'll do most of it the same way I do my deer. This may sound stupid but I was actually wondering if it would be like the buffalo meat you can buy at HEB or if it would have a more wild, gamey taste. lol

Should have a better taste IMO. The store bought stuff has too many additives and junk. Nothing better than fresh buffalo tenderloin....mmmmm....

                          Good luck!
It's really good eating for sure. Are you guys going to process it yourself?
My wife and I processed mine and it is a MARATHON for sure. It took us 3 days...

My neighbors didn't know what to think when they saw this in my garage....

Haha. Ya me and my dad are gonna get after it. Just got new processing equipment and a new electric smoker so it should be pretty fun.
