Those of you that live or hunt around 82 (WOW)

Today I made a trip to Tioga out to the Tri-Tex Grass farm to pick up a couple of pallets of overseeded Tif for the baseball field and I got a chance to see part of TX that I never knew existed. I have lived in in the South Plains/Panhandle area of Tx for about 10 yrs with a quick 3 yrs stint down in San Antonio(how I miss the Hill Country).. but today I turned onto 82 East and the scenery from Nocona to Tioga absolutely stole my heart. I grew up in Southern Indiana where creeks, hills, and trees were abundant and the fishing & hunting was plentiful. The trip today was so much more than a road trip it was a jaunt down memory lane, it took me back to my childhood and all the hunting trips I had with my father and Papaw and all the great times I had with two great men that are no longer in my life. The miles passed by with me daydreaming about where I would put a feeder and stand looking out into the fields, along the tree-lines, how the kids and I could walk out the back door and throw a line in our own little private pond, and how my wife could finally get some horses and have her own little ranch. The greatest thing about the trip was that I had my lil man with me, he is 4 and I told him about my childhood and his grandfather and great-papaw that he never got a chance to meet but how they look over him everyday and are proud of everything he is. This trip was just what we needed, no it wasn't an afternoon in the stand but it was a life changing and eye opening experience for me and my son. OHHHH how I envy you , those of you that live in that area or get a chance to hunt it. Enjoy it and know that your are blessed and I hope you get a chance to teach your children the joys of the being raised around such an awesome creation from God such as the men in my life did for me.

I know that I will be keeping my eyes on the job board for openings in that area

I told my wife I want to move to west Texas. She said "Why? For the deer hunting?". I said "No. I still want to have a lease and hunt up here." I really enjoy hunting this area up here. It's hard hunting but beautiful none the less. Glad you enjoyed the trip.
