Prayers for me - Career change

I have mentioned over the last few months that my job in international sales was fading out during this economy. I was notified in October that I would be let go eventually. I had been persuing a career in Law Enforcement already, taking the civil service exam back in March. Through all of the board reviews, polygraphs, psych evaluations, and background investigations..... I guess my living right (for the most part) has paid off. I start with the Temple Police department this Friday. I will start out with some orientation and learning geographics, then start academy on the 18th of January. I am excited about the change of pace, and I am excited about a new career. I know the pay will not be the same for a while, but for the most part this will be a recession proof job.

I ask not only for your prayers for my safety, but prayers for my wife, 9 year old son and 8 month old son to be understanding of my new duties, and be able to handle the stresses of my new job and the hours and responsibilities that go along with it.

I have been somewhat absentee over the past few months trying to make ends meet anyway I can, and I feel selfish being away for so long, and showing up asking for something. But, I know I can rely upon the greenscreen for what I have come to understand as the power of prayer.

Thank you all, and God bless you all during this Holiday season.

    Casey

Good luck Casey! If you're right for the job, you'll love the job.

Hope you have an understanding family. We learned many years ago that Christmas Day is the day we decide to celebrate it (or the day I can get off). Same applies to birthdays, anniversaries, and all other holidays.

I understand the theory there. My wifes father was an officer for 18 years, she has an understanding of that as well. I have worked in EMS as a side job for the last 16 years as well. So I typically pulled those shifts if I could help a regular out as well. It has always been in my mind as a career, and through much prayer, I made the decision. It helps that my pastor was in law enforcement for Temple for 9 years as well. He has been a God send.. no pun.
