I need some Tom green reports so I can decide when to head down there. Rut action and deer movement?

Kevin,
These are the two bucks my wife is going after today.....first pic is a mainframe 8 and the second/third pics are a mainframe 8 with kickers that she really likes......I think the kickers buck is 4.5 but with the short brows he's on the hit list. The first pic is a buck I've known for about 5 years now.....his body is underdeveloped due to being sick 2 years straight and never really got the gut or body frame a normal mature buck would get. He's 7.5 now and really needs a dirt nap
Both bucks look good in person and the wife isn't picky so it should be fun.Last edited by KingsX; 12-05-2010, 11:16 AM.

I didn't go this weekend, but have been every other weekend since the rifle opener. We are in mertzon. Our deer seemed to rut about 1-1/2 to 2 weeks early this year. Some think the dry fall speeds the does breading clock up. The lock down period (much less mature buck movement near feeders) seemed to be the 2nd and 3rd weekends of November this year. We started noticing the mature bucks back on feed thanksgiving weekend. It's usually mid-December before these older bucks are done with round one with the ladies and return to the feed. Not sure if it's the dry fall forcing them back to the corn or if they truly are finished with the first rut phase. Either way, mature buck movement around feeders seems to be picking back up.
