We were driving into our ranch Friday afternoon and a big mature buck stumbled across the road and just fell over in the bar ditch, we got out of jeep and walked up to the buck, he just lay there and did not even care we were standing around him, he had one broke off main beam, one of his eyes was basically hanging out of his head, I started to put him out of his misery but decided to let nature take its own course, we checked on him yesterday morning and he was dead. We have so many beat up bucks on our two ranches in Foard and Wilbarger counties, looks like sombody took a chain saw to them. The rut in Foard county was crazy the past 5 days, hopefully the big mature bucks will survive the rut.
